Fighting and winning against terminal cancer
It is way too early for me to lay claim or hope to be able to say that I have won, but I have been winning so far. Diagnosed Melanoma stage IV (terminal) December 19 2003 and given six, maybe 12, months to live - of which about 50% was considered likely to be quality time.
Instead I am alive today and still having quality time. Admittedly the chemotherapy and now immunotherapy have at times caused dramatic and unpleasant side effects - but I am alive and I find that I have received so much help from others, that I am now trying to repay by helping others.
I attach a draft of what I have done to help make the therapies work. Why they have worked for me - and against so impossible odds - is a mystery to the medical profession. However my own view is that without change the therapies probably would not have worked - and change I am trying to achieve in the areas of diet, meditation, stress management and just being a better person each day. I basically have followed the advice of the Bristol Cancer Help Centre - whose patron is Prince Charles. Personally I commend their holistic approach to both patients and the medical profession.
I hope that someone out there will find the attached words encouraging and they will help them - just as others have helped me - there is always HOPE
Love and Healing
